Hope Vigil
Remembrance: A Gift of Hope
 
 The Samaritans Suicide Prevention Center, a program of Family and
Children’s Service of the Capital Region Inc., in collaboration with
Families Together in New York State and the New York State Office of
Mental Health proudly announces the 2007 Hope Vigil.
 
 The Hope Vigil will take place on Sunday, October 14, 2007 from 2 p.m.
to 5 p.m. at the Desmond Hotel and Conference Center in Albany, New
York. 
 
The Hope Vigil is an annual event to remember and honor the lives of
those who have died from suicide in New York State.  Family members,
loved ones and friends of those who have died of suicide are invited to
partake in a beautifully orchestrated program including music, an audio
visual presentation, words from a spiritual leader, an address by a
bereaved parent, a gift of remembrance ceremony and a presentation of
names.  
 
Registration for the event is encouraged.  Participants who are
registered will be able to submit a photo and written piece (200 words
or less) about a loved one or a friend for inclusion in a remembrance
book and an audio visual presentation.
